PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS CUBA

All that we ask the travelers to take care of beforehand are: their flight, visa to enter Cuba, and the compulsory insurance, which can also be managed from our agency, but is not included in the budget of the trip.

PREVIOUS PHOTOGRAPHERS COMPANIONS

Tino Soriano was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain and divides his work between photojournalism and travel photography. He has been honored with numerous national and international awards such as World Press Photo, UNESCO, WHO, Spanish Geographic Society and FotoPres.

In 2004 Tino won the Silver Lens Award given by the Mexican government for the best story on Mexico published throughout the world. His exhibitions have covered topics as varied as sugar cane farming, voodoo, and slavery in the Caribbean, and Spain’s beautiful Costa Brava. His work has appeared in National Geographic magazine, National Geographic Traveler, numerous guidebooks, and many other publications.

We will be conducting documentary photography work in the cultural Havana with the focus on Santeria and dancers, the boxers, and in the Pilgrimage to San Lazaro, an extraordinary religious celebration in honor of the African saint Babaluaye.

Arrival in Havana and transfer to Hotel Inglaterra **** located in a privileged gate to Old Havana.

Meet and greet. First photo-session in Old Havana

Visit to districts of Santeria and Regla, crossing the harbor with the Cubans.

Sunset in Malecon, one of the most spectacular and popular destinations in Havana.

Day 3

Morning: Street photography, indoor and architecture photographic.

Afternoon: Santeria and Voodoo in Havana.

Morning: Contact with Cuban artists, painters and sculptors.

Afternoon: Photo shooting in “La Guarida” a popular movie’s destination (Overall “Strawberry and Chocolate” film)

Day 5: Havana – Pilgrimage to San Lazaro

Morning: Meeting with pilgrims and penitents on their journey to the Sant Lazaro Church in Rincon (San Lazaro also named Babaluaye in Santeria lexicon)

December 17: Trip Havana-Trinidad (lodging in private homes)

Exploration of the town, colonial architecture and color photography.

Morning: Visit to Julio Muñoz, a local photographer and “horse whisperer”, a love story in the middle of one of the most beautiful Cuban towns.

Afternoon: Sunset in Manaca Iznaga, Tower Valley mills.

Morning: Trinidad and return trip to Havana.

Afternoon: Visit to the Christ of Havana and Faro

Day 8: Havana – Return flight

Morning: Cemetery of Havana

Afternoon: Transfer to airport – return flight
